ADA Transition Plan and Self-Evaluation

Goals

The project will result in an updated ADA transition plan and self-evaluation for UC Berkeley, as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act for all governmental Title II entities. Knowing the disability compliance status of spaces and programs will inform the prioritization, funding, and scope of projects to improve access and compliance.

Approach

  • Conduct program surveys and assessment of facilities to identify programmatic and physical deficits
  • Develop a transition plan for how to eliminate deficits and prioritization of activities, with estimated costs
  • Create a database to connect with Capital Projects and Facilities, and manage implementation of the physical transition plan and program recommendations

Measures of Success

  • Townhalls completed by September 2020
  • 100% of program surveys completed by March 2021
  • 100% of facilities assessed by March 2021
  • Self-evaluation final report completed by June 2021
